Works under general direction to supervise Material Management Services in receipt, storage, inventory management and distribution of purchased equipment, materials, and supplies.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required



  • Education
    High School Diploma or equivalent


  • Experience
    2 years of experience in hospital or multi-hospital system, with inventory distribution, receiving and par management functions


  • Licenses and Certifications
    (DRIVERS) DRIVERS LICENSE Valid Texas drivers license is required.


Preferred



  • Experience
    Supervisor or Team Leader experience preferred.
    PeopleSoft experience preferred.


JOB DUTIES



  • Responsible to effectively supervise of staff assigned to the Materials Management Building (MMB) performing receiving and shipping of materials and equipment, staging incoming and out going supplies and equipment, stock put-away and rotation, PAR and requisition replenishment, order filling and delivery to user departments throughout the UTSWMC/CUH. Provides necessary training and develop of staff performing supply chain functions within the MMB.
  • Effectively supervises the activities and workload of staff members to achieve daily objectives. Prepares staffing schedules and participates in employee performance evaluations and disciplinary actions when required. Provides job-specific training, conducts staff meetings and in-services, and evaluates staff competencies.
  • Ensures compliance with capital and non-capital equipment receiving, tagging, and distribution policies and procedures. Coordinates safe and timely inter-campus transport of facility assets as needed.
  • Ensures accurate and timely replenishment processes and works effectively with clinical departments to address supply requirements.
  • Ensures drivers comply with inter-campus delivery schedules and distribution staff provide timely and accurate intrafacility receipt distribution and collect required proof-of-delivery information.
  • Ensures compliant processes and outcomes associated with medical device cleaning and decontamination. Recommends policy and procedure changes as healthcare industry standards evolve.
  • Enforces good housekeeping practices daily to eliminate congestion, clutter, and safety hazards and maintains a neat and orderly appearance of the dock, receiving, and staging areas. The MMB should be clear of clutter including cardboard, pallets, and rubbish.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
