Responsibilities

This full-time architect position will be responsible for advancing Advanced Design System--Keysight PathWave Software Solutions business group's flagship product--to enable software solutions to be developed and deployed by leading technology companies in telecommunication, mobile devices, semiconductor and aerospace defense industries. The solutions range from design viewing and editing in 2D or 3D view, automating workflow involved in various technology domains such as chiplet/3DIC, 5G, 6G, etc., to specialized features enabling interoperability with other EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools and manufacturing processes. Your contributions will have an immediate and direct impact on customers' efficiency and effective in navigating back and forth in their specialized workflows of their technical solutions.

You will be a key technical decision-maker in the Research & Development department who reduces broad concepts and business strategies into structured projects that may span more than one product or technology family, and solves complex, high impact product design and development problems. You will work closely with other functional areas such as Marketing, R&D, Technical Support, Quality Assurance, Learning Products, etc., within our business unit as well as across other Keysight business groups, to understand the customer's design flow, and to provide whole-product solutions.

You will investigate new technologies, such as 6G, machine learning and automation, and their applications. Conduct design reviews, usability testing and customer visits to validate requirements. Collaborate with other software/solution architects to form holistic solution across the board. Mentor and consult other individual engineers. Promote best practices in software engineering such as test-driven development, up-front design, code review, unit testing, etc. in our Agile Development Framework.

This position is located at Calabasas, California. Qualifications

The requirements of this position are:

  • A bachelor's degree or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electric Engineering, Math, Software Engineering or equivalent field
  • 10+ years in software development on Windows and/or Linux OS platforms.

Critical skills required of this position are:

  • must have demonstrated track record of solid object-oriented design experience and C++ programming skills/C++ standards
  • working knowledge of semi-conductor industry
  • proficient in software architecture
  • working knowledge of graphical user interface design
  • the ability to architect, design, implement, test, and document a solution from a high-level requirement specification
  • development experience with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux)
  • Proficient in compilers (Visual Studio, gcc), debuggers (Visual Studio, gdb) and performance profilers
  • proven leadership abilities
  • proven track record of collaborating with both internal and external partners and customers
  • excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • a keen problem solver and critical thinker, with a positive and team-oriented approach.

Additional desired skills:

  • knowledge of one or more of Keysight EDA products-e.g. ADS, SystemVue, GoldenGate, IC-CAP, EMPro, Genesys)
  • knowledge of other EDA tools from Cadence, Mentor or Synopsys
  • RF and Microwave technical knowledge
  • working knowledge of Python and its family of tools.

California pay range: MIN $149,850.00, MIDPOINT $199,800.00 - MAX $249,750.00
