Patient Care Technician - Post Surgical Unit - Days

Position Highlights:

Position: Patient Care Technician / CNA

Unit: Post Surgical Unit- Inpatient

Location: Main Hospital, Arlington Heights IL

Hours: 7am-330pm or 7am-730pm / Every other weekend

Shift: Days

status: Part Time, 24 hours per week

For 8 hour shifts must be available:

every other Monday, Every other Tuesday, Every Friday and Every other weekend.

For 12 hour shifts must be available: Every other Friday, Every other Monday, and Every other weekend.

What you will need:

• The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of high school. Candidates who are part of a CNA apprenticeship program will also be considered. Experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
• Completion of an accredited CNA course and the successful completion of the CNA certification exam, EMT or paramedics training course, current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with completion of at least one major clinical medical or surgical rotation required.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

General Summary:

Reporting to the Clinical Manager or designee, with accountability to the care team, provides basic nursing and personal care to patients as delegated by and under the direction of a Registered Nurse and Licensed Practicing Nurse. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age(s) of the patients served on the assigned unit.
