Position Summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse (Clairvia Systems Administrator/ Nurse Educator to work in the Department of Nursing Support Services. As the Clairvia System Administrator, the nurse will have the overall responsibility for both the workforce and workload platforms. This role will also have oversight of all required clinical education and training for staff in the Department of Nursing Support Services.

Duties of a Clairvia System Administrator/Nurse Educator may include the following but are not limited to:

* Manages and maintains Clairvia staffing management system, as well as all platforms associated with staffing, patient assignment, patient location and patient/unit acuity.

* Oversee Clairvia system program and provides end user application training and education related to the current nursing scheduling and patient classification system.

* Educates, teaches and performs audits to ensure system is fully validated and operationalized.

* Ensures audits are conducted by all units, recommends clinical documentation changes related to acuities and participates in workflow development and changes.

* Assists in the development of departmental goals and objectives in accordance with organization's initiatives.

* Collaborates with education team in the preparation and provision of updated training documents, operation manuals and reference materials for staff.

* Recommends changes to the Clairvia systems and identifies areas of opportunity for improved performance both within the electronic scheduling system, as well as overall clinical workforce scope.

* Works with local teams and collaborates/plans with vendor to thoroughly test the Clairvia system prior to application upgrades and implement changes.

* Oversee the Clairvia interface with the organization's electronic medical record, ensuring accuracy and validation of the patient classification system on an annual and as needed basis.

* Reports data and information as requested to other departments or for regulatory needs, collaborates with other departments on project and data needs, facilitates Clairvia related committees and calls.

* Provides updates and routine communication to organizational leaders, as well as feedback on policies, procedures and clinical practice.

* Serves as the Clairvia Acuity Expert and maintains validity of Clairvia patient acuity classification system.

* Performs a variety of duties to ensure the successful advancement of Clinical Workforce projects overall and ensures the optimization of Clairvia at all levels.

* Supervises, coordinates and oversees nursing education to all clinical staff in the Department of Nursing Support Services. In addition, this position may provide individualized direct patient care utilizing the skills and knowledge relevant to the care of such patients.

* Functions in the role of staffing coordinator in the Department of Nursing Support Services as needed.

* Provides outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* Current license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.

* At least 3 years post-licensure acute care experience in Nursing, one year which is supervisory/management experience.

* Bachelor's degree from a National League of Nursing Accredited School of Nursing.

* BCLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in Nursing Education and/r Nursing Informatics

* Experience with Clairvia Program Software

* Two (2) years of experience in area of specialization is preferred.

* Unit specific specialty certification preferred.

* Experience with Excel

* Med/Surg, ICU or Telemedicine experience

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).



Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.

*The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position is - $105000 - $149704 / year.

The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.

Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as:

* Location pay for UUP, CSEA & PEF full-time positions ($3400)
