Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). In lieu of a degree, two (2) years of full-time related research experience may be considered. Research experience (professional and/or student experience). Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid NYS Driver's License; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time experience working in a clinical research and/or perioperative setting. Experience with clinical research procedures. Experience with testing. Experience with data processing and working with electronic databases. Experience working with study participants or patients in a surgical setting.
Brief Description of Duties: The Clinical Research Assistant will assist with research studies. The incumbent will interact directly with study participants and will share activities with other research team members. Incumbent will also assist with maintaining the integrity of collected data in an electronic database and assist with maintaining study protocol documents and compliance with all Institutional Review Board policies. The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills. Good communication skills are necessary for the Clinical Research Assistant.
Duties:
- Assist with data processing.
- Complete case report forms.
- Conduct tests on study participants.
- Collect, organize and maintain data in an electronic database.
- Assist with participant recruitment. Schedule and coordinate participant appointments.
- Assist with maintenance of study protocol documents and IRB compliance.
- Communicate with the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
- Organize and maintain clinical information and records which may be related to multiple studies.
- Ship lab samples.
- May be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours on nights and/or weekends.
- Other duties as assigned.
Special Notes: The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Non-Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
Evening and weekend work may be required at times.
