Financial Analyst - Operations Management

Position Summary:

The main functions of a financial analyst/operations manager are to gather and analyze financial information; will typically conduct quantitative analyses of information affecting investment programs of public or private institutions. A typical financial analyst is responsible for analyzing and communicating financial information for clients.

Responsibilities:



  • Assemble spreadsheets and draw charts and graphs used to illustrate technical reports.
  • Analyze financial information to produce forecast of business, industry and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions.
  • Interpret data affecting investment programs, such as price, yield, stability and future trends in investment risks.
  • Financial Operations Management
  • Create and issue accurate invoices according to internal policies.
  • Ensure all invoices are aligned with the revenue data and are processed in a timely manner.
  • Manage and update the revenue/payment tracker, maintaining a detailed history of revenue amounts and payment statuses.
  • Record revenue accurately in the system, ensuring that all entries are aligned with the revenue reports and financial policies.
  • Monitor accounts to identify outstanding payments and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable balances to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
  • Process Improvement
  • Identify and implement improvements to streamline invoicing and revenue recording processes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial operations processes.
  • Collaboration
  • Work closely with the finance teams and the service partnership management team to ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting/payment.
  • Support the Financial Operations Manager with ad hoc financial projects and analysis.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline required. An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred.
  • 2-4 years financial and/or accounting experience required.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
  • Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  • Basic ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses.
  • Basic knowledge of economic and accounting principles, the financial markets, and reporting of financial data.
  • Basic knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to accounting.
  • Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related financial software.
