Our Senior Payroll Specialist completes in-house weekly payroll for approximately 2,500 employees in multiple states for both private and prevailing wage construction projects.

DUTIES & SCOPE:



  • Weekly payroll processing for 2500+ employees and multi-state, ensuring the processes are running effectively and accurately
  • Work alongside Benefit & HR Team members to assure their input was accurate using queries to validate
  • Review, interpret and maintain garnishments, levies and child support orders in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations.
  • Acts as the first level of escalation for questions and issues that Payroll team members are not able to resolve.
  • Processing of W-4, Direct deposit forms, State withholding form, local tax forms
  • Assist with month-end close
  • Timesheet tracking analysis; includes follow up with employees and managers for timely entry and approvals.
  • Processing termination payouts and any off-cycle checks requested.
  • Review, audit, reconcile and correct/update payroll prior to transmission to ensure proper pay calculations, tax calculations, and general ledger/treasury processes are performed completely, accurately and in compliance with company policy, federal, state and local regulations.
  • Prevailing wage experience is a plus
  • Scanning and filing needs for payroll documents


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Requires a minimum of 5-8+ years' experience with full-cycle multi-state payroll (weekly)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Working knowledge and experience with multi-state payroll and payroll tax rules and regulations in the US (federal, state, local)
  • Current experience and in-depth knowledge of payroll systems and reporting functions, CMiC
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in addition to strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and work well in teams to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-growing environment where change is the norm; strong multi-tasking skills, and flexibility to switch from one project to the next quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to hold information confidential with use of appropriate judgment when handling sensitive data
  • Strong organization skills
  • Energetic and dedicated
  • Attention to detail and accuracy a must
  • Familiarity with the following is a plus: MS Office, CMiC (Garnishments/Tax/W2 Yearend statements)



The starting salary base pay for this role is between USD $85,000.00 and $90,000.00 per year. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: location, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
