Our Georgia-Pacific Gypsum team in Savannah, Georgia is seeking a motivated and safety-oriented individual to join our team for a temporary position. This is a temporary role, and the duration of employment could be between 3 to 6 months.

Duration: 3-6 months.

Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts. This position requires flexibility to work overtime and a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

What You Will Do
* Actively practice Principle Based Management (PBM) and foster the use of PBM guiding principles in daily job performance.
* Perform all tasks safely and compliantly, with a focus on customer satisfaction and value creation.
* Complete assigned tasks proficiently without direct supervision, respecting co-workers and supervisors across all departments.
* Assist in developing processes to manage product quality and drive continuous improvement.
* Pre-test raw materials and assist with plant and divisional trials.
* Test manufactured finished products and record data in the plant's Quality Database System.
* Ensure precision in lab tests, as product specification ranges have close tolerances.
* Ensure production conforms to GP's Quality Assurance programs and external third-party certification programs (e.g., UL, Factory Mutual, ICC-ES, Intertek).
* Chair Quality Committee meetings and inspect finished products in the warehouse.
* Maintain a good safety and attendance record, work as part of a team, and be willing to work overtime or take call-outs as needed.
* Perform housekeeping duties and other required tasks.
* Assist in developing knowledge processes and systems for non-conforming production.
* Demonstrate reading and comprehension skills in performing Standard Test Procedures (STPs).
* Communicate customer needs and train employees on STPs to ensure accurate data reporting.
* Maintain product test equipment and process raw material calibration logs.
* Be knowledgeable about GP's Quality Assurance program and Gypsum Quality Management System.
* Conduct routine and repetitive tests at rapid intervals.
* Utilize strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Minimum of three (3) years of experience in manufacturing.
* Basic knowledge of math calculations, including decimals, fractions, and percentages.
* Experience in reading a tape measure.
* Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Teams.

What Will Put You Ahead
* Associate degree or 3 years of experience in a quality lab or related field.
* Five (5) years of experience in a gypsum wallboard manufacturing facility.
* Experience with equipment calibration for a Quality Assurance lab.
* General knowledge of gypsum wallboard manufacturing processes and applications.
* Data collection and statistical analysis experience.
