What you will do
The Manufacturing Engineer develops and plans the necessary processes relative to all new and existing production lines. He/she leads the development and execution of the following: assembly line layout, capacity alignment to sales commitments, capital equipment planning and implementation, standard operating procedures, integration of design engineering/production operations all while ensuring the safest environment, highest quality, productivity targets. The Manufacturing Engineer coordinates and directs projects, project staff and sets goals, budgets, and timelines for active projects.
How you will do it
* Design product assembly lines with Production Operations/Design/Mechanical engineering;
* Ensure all admin work is complete before construction kick-off (IFC Stage-Gate);
* Manage scheduling, capital equipment needs, station setups (BOMs, fab parts, consumables), subassembly design, plant layouts, cycle times, takt time calculations, and preliminary line balancing.
* Ensure safety for all workers and managers;
* Enforce Occupational Health and Safety guidelines;
* Implement Product Design DFMA focusing on safety, manufacturability, and simplified assembly of parts.
* Act as a liaison between engineering and production to facilitate effective communication.
* Prepare for construction kick-off and populate the Manufacturing Playbook;
* Ensure regular updates to the Manufacturing Playbook as changes occur.
* Author Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to meet engineering specifications;
* Release and revise SOPs based on production priorities.
* Support activities such as Kaizens, VSMs, and VAVE.
* Collaborate with production and planning to gather vital project information, particularly for time study projects and scheduling tasks.
* Analyze information for decision-making and problem-solving.
* Monitor project schedules and recommend resource allocation as needed.
* Provide technical oversight and coordination of engineering work through project meetings.
* Communicate with stakeholders, red-line engineering drawings, and meet in person.
What we look for
Required
4 year Engineering degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing/Welding/Electrical/Electronics or other related field
1+ years of hands experience with a manufacturing / production environment, we anticipate this role to be working on the floor 60% of the time.
Effective collaboration skills
Experience prioritizing projects
Liaising between engineering and production
Demonstrated knowledge of codes for operation's geographical area required.
Expert problem identification and problem resolution skills.
