Total hours are 10-15 hours per week working primarily 8-3pm per day at Ridgeline High School and Mountain Crest High School. So, the hours each week will be split between the two schools. There will be occasional times you will work outside of your assigned work hours for family events/ field trips but overall, 90% of the hours are spent at your assigned school, and only 10% at outside locations. **The rate of pay is set at $15.50 per hour. The official start date will be determined at time of hire, no later than January 6, 2025. The end date of the position will be June 1, 2025, unless otherwise discussed at time of hire. Advisors give support to students in order to be successful in high school and progress towards graduation and attending college. This includes weekly/bi-weekly individual mentor meetings, field trips, tutoring, and scholarship/FAFSA help. Success is more than just grades, and the mentoring side of this job is vital to this position. As an advisor, you are expected to consistently meet with each student to discuss their progress in terms of school which includes: grades, attendance, career exploration, etc. About GEAR UP: GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a federally funded grant program. Its goal is to increase college awareness for low-income students and their families and to help students develop the skills and preparation necessary to pursue education after high school. GEAR UP works collaboratively with schools, parents and community organizations to help students build the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to prepare for college.
