Job Description

We are looking for a Director, FP&A and Business Support to join our growing team! In this role, you will spearhead all planning, forecasting, and strategic analytics activities for our expanding operations. You will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy of a new organization, providing insightful analysis to drive business performance, and establishing robust financial processes from the ground up. This leadership position offers the opportunity to build and mentor a high-performing finance team, ensuring financial excellence and strategic growth as we develop the nation's premier fiber-optic network.

As Director, FP&A and Business Support, your duties and responsibilities will include:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  • Provide strategic analysis and insights to support executive decision-making and enhance business performance, productivity, and value
  • Develop and implement financial models and analyses to evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives and business plans

Business Group Performance Reporting, Analysis & Support:

  • Compile and analyze financial information to produce accurate and insightful reports on actual versus planned financial results
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide executive reporting on financial benchmarks and business trends
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Support the Residential, Business and Operations teams providing analysis, insights into results and recommendations

Financial Systems and Processes:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust financial models for forecasting and strategic planning
  • Implement and oversee financial systems and tools, working with our Finance Systems team, to enhance forecasting accuracy and efficiency
  • Continuously improve financial processes, leveraging technology and best practices to drive operational excellence

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate the preparation of budgets, track financial performance, and ensure timely reporting of business group results
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial insights into business strategies and operations

External Economic Analysis:

  • Analyze external economic conditions (e.g., inflation, interest rates, exchange rates) and their impact on business operations and financial performance
  • Provide strategic recommendations to mitigate financial risks and capitalize on economic opportunities
Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with 10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, planning and forecasting, or a related area within a large corporate environment
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including experience in building and maintaining complex financial models
  • Extensive experience with financial planning and reporting tools such as Oracle EPM, SAC, Anaplan, as well as ERP and accounting systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop senior managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
  • Knowledge of budgeting and cost control principles
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments, managing competing priorities efficiently

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • CPA designation or equivalent professional certification
  • Strong telecommunications product knowledge and experience within the industry
  • Experience with advanced data visualization and business intelligence tools
