Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Process Controls Engineer (Nightshift) to grow the controls capability for our new lumber mill in Albany, GA. The ideal candidate will be a self-driven individual with a passion for excellence in safety, manufacturing, and customer focus. What You Will Do

* Programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining advanced PLC/5 and Control Logix
* Be involved in the controls and automation design, implementation, and support of hardware and software systems for mill process equipment
* Implement, design, and configure advance process control strategies. Maintain functional design specifications for process control systems.
* Support process operations by troubleshooting installed systems to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of these systems.
* Reading assembly drawings, schematics, and equipment layouts
* Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic circuits
* Maintaining, troubleshooting, and replacing control devices
* Understanding and using data to improve productivity
* Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
* Work with mill personnel to identify opportunities to create value and solve problem

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* At least 2 years of Electrical Controls experience in a manufacturing setting
* At least 2 years of PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
* Experience reading technical drawings and schematics
* Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering-related field plus internship/co-op experience in controls-related assignments OR industrial experience working as an electrical or instrumentation technician.

* 5+ years experience Controls engineering/programming and troubleshooting experience
