Primary Responsibilities:



  • Supervises the daily activities and tasks of Pharmacists / employees related to fulfillment of prescription orders
  • Monitors operations of business unit and actively assists and provides direction to subordinates as required using standard policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Prioritizes and coordinates work, provides leadership to and reviews the work of assigned staff
  • Maintains and reviews most effective scheduling of staff to meet the needs and goals of business unit; assigns workload to staff to meet completion dates / deadlines
  • Works to optimize standardized procedures and improve efficiency of subordinates
  • Performs or assists subordinates in performing duties and resolving problems
  • Analyzes, researches and prepares various reports for management on assigned topics as needed
  • Interviews, hires new employees, ensures appropriate training, conducts performance reviews, counsels employees and takes appropriate disciplinary action
  • Responsible for supervising about 30 direct reports (pharmacists)
  • Interprets physicians' prescriptions and creates order, accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer system
  • Collaborate with peers / staff from other OptumRx facilities to create, modify and ensure standardized procedures
  • Oversees, reviews and handles escalated issues
  • Review, develop and deploy processes in ensure consistent execution of business initiatives.
  • Flexible work schedule to cover business needs
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor or Doctorate Degree of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Current and unrestricted Pharmacist licensure in the state of Kansas or willing to obtain within 6 months of starting employment
  • 4+ years of Pharmacist experience
  • 1+ years experience leading, overseeing or supervising tasks/ projects of pharmacy staff
  • Proven experience with change management
  • Intermediate to Advanced excel skills. (Formulas (vlookup,hlookup, sumproducts, if statements,etc), Macros, Multi sheet references, report building and maintaining)



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Green Belt, Black Belt Six Sigma or Lean certification
  • Experience with SQL Database
  • Fulfillment experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
  • Solid data analysis skills to include organizing large amounts of data and developing remediation/improvement plans
  • Expert level competency around teaching and developing talent at all levels



The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
