DESCRIPTION

Since 1996, the Child and Adolescent Services Research Center (CASRC) has been contracted to provide the System of Care Evaluation (SOCE) contract with County of San Diego Behavioral Health Services for Children and Youth (BHS-CY). The focus of this contract encompasses four (4) areas: 1) data management and evaluation services for BHS-CY; 2) overseeing outcomes and quality assurance efforts of BHS-CY; 3) providing consultation and subject matter expertise for program and client outcomes and other related research services including system-wide reports for BHS-CY; and 4) leveraging community data to support and inform the BHS-CY system.

Under supervision of the Project Coordinator, individual will work as a Behavioral Health Community Representative for the Systems of Care Evaluation (SOCE) program in the Department of Psychiatry's Child and Adolescent Services Research Center. Duties include establishing and maintaining a familiarity with community behavioral health services and system of care resources for youth clients at the 60+ participating community-based clinic sites that are part of the SOCE program; maintaining awareness of available behavioral health services and current methods and techniques used in providing behavioral health services to youth clients and/or caregivers at these sites; representing the needs of youth clients and/or caregivers receiving behavioral health services throughout San Diego County; serving as a liaison for youth clients receiving behavioral health services at the program sites; conducting focus groups with youth clients and/or caregivers at the program sites; data entry, database maintenance and data extraction from measures collected from the program sites. Assist with other project and miscellaneous duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Coursework or work experience in related area.

  • Must have valid CA driver's license, acceptable driving record, and access to reliable transportation.

  • Knowledge or experience in program content and objectives. Knowledge of how to deliver educational programs in a variety of settings.

  • Organizational skills to develop a project plan, monitor plans against established deadlines, and review and analyze results.

  • Basic effective reading, verbal, written communications and presentation skills to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Ability to maintain positive interactions with others and work cooperatively. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Experience using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.

  • Experience as a current or recent-past caregiver of youth or young adult utilizing children's behavioral health services, psychotherapy or counseling.

  • Proven ability to provide perspectives of youth and/or caregivers receiving behavioral health services, represent their experiences, and advocate for this special client group.

  • Demonstrated interest and capability in representing and coordinating services for youth clients in the behavioral health service system.

  • Demonstrated interest and ability in the delivery of behavioral health and social services.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in diverse environments while demonstrating cultural competency.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

  • Experience as a client or family member in the County of San Diego BHS-CY system.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

  • Annual TB test, flu vaccination and background check required to be in accordance with Rady Children's Hospital health requirements.

  • Position requires monthly visits to clinic/community group/County administration sites throughout San Diego County. Must be willing to travel occasionally to various research study sites.

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including occasional overtime.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $45,400 - $74,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $21.74 - $35.54

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).

If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
