Job Summary:
|
The Research Publication Specialist will support the development and execution of a comprehensive research publication strategy, manage the publication process, and collaborate with research teams to ensure that publications align with the university's mission of diversity and inclusion. This role involves active participation in research studies, coordination of research submissions, and evaluation of publication impact. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive research publication strategy to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in research output.
- Support the publication process, from manuscript preparation to submission, ensuring adherence to institutional guidelines and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with research teams to ensure that publications align with the university's mission of diversity and inclusion.
- Actively contribute to the development and deployment of research studies, working closely with research teams to ensure the inclusion of diverse perspectives and populations.
- Coordinate the timely submission of research publications to academic journals, conferences, and other relevant platforms.
- Contribute to the development of metrics and key performance indicators related to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences Research, or a related field from an accredited university or college, or equivalent experience.
- Two (2) years of professional experience in clinical/public research and/or publication management.
- A minimum of 10 research publications in reputable academic journals.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:
- A master's or doctorate degree in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated success in coordinating research submissions.
- Experience in a healthcare or academic setting.
- Experience with quantitative data collection methods such as REDCap and Qualtrics.
- Experience managing data sets using Excel or other software.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis using relevant software.
- Experience preparing written reports and presentations.
- Five or more publications related to DEI.
- Proven track record of research leadership and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge in research methodologies and publication processes.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and publication tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understanding of diversity and inclusion issues.
- Familiarity with academic publishing standards and guidelines.
- Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Basic knowledge of research design and data analysis.
- Ability to work in a team environment and develop effective interpersonal relationships.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and handle a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of research methodologies and the ability to contribute to study development and deployment.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in relevant software and publication tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an understanding of diversity and inclusion issues.
- Familiarity with academic publishing standards and guidelines.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this part-time (0.50 FTE) position has been established as: $27,559 - $35,054 per year The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
