The Role

The primary responsibility of this position is to help ensure that all accounting transactions and balance sheet reconciliations for the Organization are processed timely and accurately. This position is responsible for assisting in reconciling approximately 120 cash bank accounts as well as an approximately $350 million investment portfolio containing alternative and private equity investments on a monthly basis.

Cash Accounts and Investments
    Monthly updating and reconciliation of various cash and investment accounts to the General Ledger, including "Balance Sheet" reconciliations for review by the Assistant Controller. The senior accountant will be responsible for all the account analysis for each balance sheet account.
  • Act as a backup and assist in preparing all Cash Book and accounts receivable payment entries.
  • Manage month-end closing process for cash book and investments within the five-day close, including preparation of all month-end journal entries necessary to record non-departmental transactions. Preparation of monthly reconciliation of investment activity/balances to general ledger.
  • Assist in managing the investment template, ensuring fund manager statements tie to our investment custodian statements and advisor statements on a monthly basis. Included in this is managing the timeline and checklist for all received investment statements on a monthly basis.
  • Facilitate and assist in leading monthly meetings with the Association's investment record keeper in an effort to actively manage the relationship between both parties.
  • On a monthly basis analyze stale dated checks and handle each in accordance with established process.
Purser and US Open
  • Daily reconciliation of merchandise sales during the Open. Compare sales report to inventory control sheet and mark variances.
  • Audit concession and merchandise registers at least once during the event ensuring all registers are complying with sales report/planned register report. Create memos noting any variances.
  • Assist purser's office during the event. Reconciling payments made to players, answering phones, making copies etc.

Value added support managing resources and other:

  • Ad hoc projects for Professional Tennis, Accounting & Finance or Chief Executive as necessary.
  • Assist with interim and year-end audits, as needed.
Who You Are
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on cash management, investment portfolio reconciliation, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Hands-on experience managing high-volume cash accounts and complex investment portfolios.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Solid understanding of general ledger reconciliation, journal entry preparation, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
  • Familiarity with alternative investments, private equity, and stale-dated check procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in fast-paced environments, particularly during major events like the US Open.
  • Experience with automated general ledger systems (e.g., Lawson) is preferred.

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $60,000 - $70,000. This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
