The Lead Service Specialist II is responsible for performing all tasks related to specific position in a timely manner and meeting or exceeding supervisor's communicated expectations. Responsible for the delivery and/or pick up of medical equipment, supplies or pharmaceuticals to patients homes or places of discharge. Will ensure completion of all applicable paperwork is accurate, legible and meets all regulatory requirements. Delivers exceptional customer service to all internal & external customers. Performs distribution service and warehouse duties according to the policies and procedures of Johns Hopkins Pharmaquip. Maintains a safe work environment, including the all aspect of maintaining the fleet vehicles. As team lead, performs administrative tasks/functions as assigned by management related but not limited to: vehicle inspections, routing, training and observing drivers, dispatching, and reviewing D.O.T. requirements for compliance. Takes a leadership role in the precepting program for new staff.

Education:




  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred



Essential Job Functions:




  • Responsible for making deliveries/pickups to patients' homes, Hospitals and/or patient residence.
  • Responsible for performing various DME set ups and delivery.
  • Responsible for oxygen initiation and delivery of related supplies.
  • Responsible for performing on call /holiday coverage rotation with other Service Specialists.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment (vehicle).
  • Responsible for completing all paperwork accurately and within set time frames.
  • Responsible for ensuring hand-off communication to the members of the team.
  • Responsible for following all DME specific policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for the appropriate labeling and placement of equipment in the warehouse.
  • Responsible for lead tasks as assigned by Supervisor to include, but not limited to (Vehicle Inspections when requested, training and evaluation of service specialists, D.O.T. Log inspections, and dispatching as needed).



Skills, and Abilities:




  • Ability to work independently or with a group/team, problem solve & make decisions as necessary
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English Language
  • Knowledge of demographic areas of service, ability to read maps
  • Ability to interact positively with patients and their families
  • Use of good judgment & defensive driving techniques
  • Must be self-motivated, responsible & maintain a cooperative attitude



Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training:




  • Current, valid driver's license, CDL W/Hazmat & no points preferred.



Work Experience:




  • Minimum two years experience as a Service Specialist II
  • Six (6) months or more of home care experience and, experience with liquid oxygen delivery and safe handling practices preferred

Salary Range: Minimum 19.88 per hour - Maximum 32.81 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
