Overview
The Motor Vehicle District Office Supervisor will supervise and be responsible for all daily activities and operations of the DMV Mobile Unit. The Mobile Unit consists of 9 Mobile Unit Support Specialists who travel to our satellite locations in St. Albans, St. Johnsbury, White River Junction and Dummerston. Duties involve the issuance of registrations, issuance of licenses, examination of applications through use of various written, visual and road tests. Additionally, the position will be accountable for all funds for each office location. This position will be expected to travel with their team. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, 6:45am to 5:15pm, with the possibility of overtime. The District Office Supervisor will:

This position, Motor Vehicle District Office Supervisor (Job Requisition #51796), is open to all State employees and external applicants. Resumes will not be accepted via e-mail. Duties are performed in the office and the field. Incumbents must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure before the public eye and from telephone inquiries. Due to significant public contact exposure to contagious illnesses is a daily risk. Incumbents must be able to multi-task and prioritize unpredictable workloads. Employees must be able to deal with confused, frustrated, and highly upset customers and handle large sums of money. Within the office setting, normal workplace conditions prevail. Riding in various vehicles in which the incumbent has little control of the operator of the vehicle and/or environmental conditions of the vehicle or roadway. Incumbents must be able to take over operation of a motor vehicle in emergency situations. Occasional trips outdoors when administering road exams and verifying vehicle identification numbers. Incumbents must be able to perform several job duties within several different units possibly in the same day. The incumbent must be able to travel to other offices with minimal notice to assist when staffing shortages occur and various scheduled hours. Private means of transportation may be required. Some overtime work may be required. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent AND six (6) years or more of customer service work experience INCLUDING two (2) years or more in a supervisory role. Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with prior motor vehicle department experience. Special Requirements
An applicant's vision must be correctable to 20/40 (Snellen test) in both eyes, with normal color perception and field of vision. Must possess or acquire within one year of employment; a Class A CDL license with all endorsements, including motorcycle. Total Compensation
