Job Description Summary
Nazareth University invites applications and nominations for the role of Clinical Assistant Professor for the new Physician Assistant Program in the College of Interprofessional Health & Human Services ( CIHHS). The Clinical Assistant Professor will also serve as the Chair of the Admissions Committee and oversee the admissions processes for the innovative hybrid PA Program. This principal faculty role is 80% teaching, scholarship and service and 20% administrative.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for oversight of the PA Program's admissions process and chairing the Program Admissions Committee.
  • Provide analyses of the program's admissions processes to include an annual admissions report as a component of the program's ongoing self-assessment process.
  • Maintains accurate student records and enforcing academic policies consistent with the University, College and Program.
  • Develop and deliver academic courses as assigned, to include curriculum development, teaching and student assessment.
  • Assist with curriculum evaluation and improvement.
  • Perform student evaluations of objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs), lab practicals, and clinical skills and procedure sessions during the didactic and clinical phases of the program.
  • Provide remedial instruction and reassessment as needed.
  • Participate in site visits of clinical phase students as assigned.
  • Participate in the academic counseling of students as assigned.
  • Serve on departmental, college and university committees as assigned.
  • Participate in developing, reviewing and revising the mission statement, program goals and program competencies, as necessary.
  • Conduct and disseminate scholarship.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Technology and Skills

  • Master's degree
  • Current certification in area of clinical practice
  • Eligibility for licensure in state of residence
  • At least three years of prior higher education experience
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Skilled in working with a variety of different student learning styles
  • Ability to perform duties autonomously with minimal supervision
  • At least three years of prior clinical experience
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and successfully meet deadlines

Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills

  • Experience as principal faculty in a PA Program
  • Experience with remote teaching and assessment
