Research Technician

In lieu of educational requirements, additional years of relevant experience may be considered, as per University guidelines.

This position is centered around interacting with human subjects in a research setting. It is a good fit for someone with clinical experience and experience talking and interacting with human patients. Because of the opportunity to gain experience interacting with a diverse patient population, it could be a good fit for someone taking a gap year before pursuing graduate studies. You also gain the opportunity to contribute to abstracts, manuscripts, and other publications produced by the lab.

Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.

• Assist in human motion capture data collection
• Use custom data processing software to track bone motion in radiographic images
• Create 3D bone and soft tissue models from medical images (CT and MRI)
• Organize data and results for in-lab presentations
• Review literature related to ongoing research

Must be able to work at a desk for extended periods of time (sitting or standing); must be able to lift 50 pounds, must be able to navigate through a room lined with wires and cables on the floor without assistance or tripping.
