Job Description:

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University -SGA Daytona Beach is hiring anSGA Finance Assistant. The SGA Finance Assistant will handle the day-to-day financial activities of the Student Government Association (SGA). The position requires someone who is detail-oriented, with good problem-solving abilities, professionalism, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Purchasing and Vendor Management

  • Run the purchasing processes for the SGA branches and divisions.
  • Operate the SGA's Amazon and Fronted Purchase program and the Uber Saferideprogram
  • Provide guidance and training for SGA division budget managers

Account Transactions and Reconciliation:

  • Manage the payment request processes
  • Perform year-end closing and opening procedures for SGA accounts

Record-Keeping and Financial Data Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of financialtransactions for audit, staff, and SGA Treasurer access
  • Produce financial reports for the SGA divisions
  • Operate the SGA's Professional Development Fund

Please note: This position is in-person located in Daytona Beach, Florida. This position is not remote or hybrid

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience

Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

  • Ability to work independently, organize tasks, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Proficient in problem-solving techniques
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and ability to prioritize, multitask, and follow up effectively
  • Competence in Excel and capacity to quickly learn new software systems (Proficiency in Workday preferred)
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping, accounting systems, and reading budgetary ledgers
