Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Engineer located at the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL. This fulltime position is responsible for overseeing necessary maintenance on numerous systems within the Component Refurbishment and Chemical Analysis (CRCA) Facility. Work will be performed onsite at the Kennedy Space Center. This position supports the Space Division at the Kennedy Space Center, FL.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Minimum of two years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of applicable computer operating system(s) and standard computer applications.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Must have U.S. Citizenship

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • General working knowledge of mechanical, chemical and pneumatic systems to include various pumps, motors, and filtration systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Maintain required certifications, licenses, permits, etc., required for performance of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Familiarity with Maximo is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor status of facility systems and submit support request when repairs are needed. Monitor status of support requests through completion.
  • Coordinate with Supervisors, technicians and third-party service providers to ensure that equipment remains operational to support key mission.
  • Establish periodic maintenance plans including identification of needed service actions and replacement parts.
  • Identify suitable replacements for laboratory equipment which is beyond the point of economical repair. Develop an installation plan to ensure all needed utilities are available.
  • Input purchase requisitions to obtain replacement parts and initiate on-site service.
  • Follow up on outstanding service requests to third party providers.
  • Perform any other related and/or associate duties as required.
