Overview

As a Civil Engineering Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll manage several wind projects that are mainly focused on bat studies. You'll take part in developing relationships with wind developers to win other aspects of wind projects in Survey, Ecology, and Civil. CEC's solar projects are in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and St. Louis. You will interact with clients, contractors, local government officials, and will impact the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction, all the way to the grand opening.



Qualifications

    20+ years' of civil experience;
  • 5-8 years experience with solar and wind projects;
  • BS in Civil Engineering;
  • Professional Engineering License (P.E.);
  • Ability to develop and mentor staff;
  • Ability to prepare and/or review Civil Engineering deliverables;
  • Ability to prepare proposals and manage project execution;
  • Ability to interface with clients, network, and develop business;
  • Ability to speak and present during public meetings;
  • Civil 3D and stormwater modelling experience a plus;
  • Responsible for managing renewable energy site development design with a focus on ground mounted solar arrays and battery energy storage systems (BESS);
  • Drives business development activities in conjunction with the firms' annual business development objectives;
  • Prepares and monitors project budgets;
  • Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects;
  • Prepares design concepts and develops project plans and specifications;
  • Prepares proposals for engineering services;
  • Coordinates and approves pricing, estimating, and proposed strategies for proposed projects;
  • Serves as a designated client contact;
  • Supervises and directs team of technical staff and assigns tasks;
  • Meets/corresponds with clients to obtain direction/feedback;
  • Conducts site visits as required;
  • Responsible for control of work-in-process for, ensures accurate client billings and monitors outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on h/she projects;
  • Initiates business development activities.
