Safety Intern - Summer 2025

With offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio, Pepper Construction is a national general contracting and construction management firm that primarily serves the private sector. Pepper Construction provides clients the experience and resources of a national company, combined with the hands-on approach of a local company.

Pepper Construction Company is looking for a qualified, intelligent student with a passion for learning about safety in the construction industry to come and experience life as a Safety Professional with General Contractor as a Safety Intern. You must possess a strong base of computer skills coupled with high-quality written and verbal communication skills.

You will work with our Safety Department. This position is primarily field oriented and is structured to ensure safe work practices are implemented and enforced on all Pepper Construction projects. The Safety Intern position will play a role in developing and promoting our Pepper Safety Culture. Safety is our first priority and we are committed to taking the steps necessary to protect our people and to the continuing effort of striving for an accident free workplace.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Current college student in their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year studying safety management, safety engineering, industrial hygiene or occupational environmental health and safety preferred.
• Good communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team
• Ability to multi-task
• Able to provide own transportation to and from work related activities
• Candidates with proof of vaccination preferred
