The Automotive Strategic Account Executive is a skilled sales professional responsible for driving growth within the automotive sector, focusing on key strategic accounts with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. This role requires a deep understanding of the automotive industry and a solution-based approach to address client-specific challenges. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Automotive Strategic Account Executive will develop strategies and close deals that support digital transformation within the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a sales strategy tailored to the automotive sector, focusing on the needs and business models of OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders at OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to foster long-term partnerships.

  • Lead the full sales cycle, utilizing a solution-based approach to address challenges such as connected vehicles, digital transformation, and supply chain integration.

  • Collaborate with automotive-focused product management and technical teams to deliver solutions aligned with industry trends, including connected vehicles, autonomous driving, and EV advancements.

  • Coordinate with global sales leaders and regional teams to align account strategies and ensure consistent execution across divisions for multinational automotive clients.

  • Stay informed about automotive industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements, including ISO/TS, IATF 16949, and environmental standards.

  • Drive software adoption across manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics operations using solutions like IoT, AR, CAD, PLM, and SLM.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong consultative selling skills, with the ability to address complex challenges in the automotive sector and align solutions with both global and regional business objectives.

  • Deep understanding of the global automotive industry, including the strategic priorities of multinational OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, such as connected vehicles, EV advancements, and digital transformation.

  • Knowledge of regional differences in automotive manufacturing practices, supply chain dynamics, and regulatory compliance, including ISO/TS, IATF 16949, and environmental standards.

  • Expertise in global account management, with the ability to coordinate strategies across multiple regions and collaborate effectively with regional sales teams.

  • Familiarity with digital solutions such as PLM, IoT, CAD, and AR, and their applications in product development, manufacturing, and logistics on a global scale.

  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to navigate complex organizational structures within multinational clients.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools for managing global pipelines and ensuring accurate forecasting across multiple geographies.

  • Ability to adapt to evolving industry trends and regional market conditions, ensuring solutions remain relevant and impactful worldwide.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years in enterprise software sales, with at least 5 years focused on the automotive industry.

  • Proven track record of managing and growing complex accounts within the automotive ecosystem, with a history of meeting or exceeding quotas.

  • Experience in solution-based selling to address industry-specific challenges in digital transformation and connected vehicle initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Ability to travel Globally to meet with OEM and Tier 1 supplier clients.
