Job Overview

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

A Day In The Life

  • Implement and maintain preventive maintenance on all equipment and machinery within the plant, as noted in the equipment manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery to detect malfunction. Communicate equipment problems to operations staff as needed. Ensure safety procedures are in use consistently. (Lock out, tag out, etc.)
  • Diagnose problems, dismantle defective machines and equipment, and install new or repaired parts, following the specifications set forth in blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings.
  • Building maintenance and lighting (plumbing repair, changing lamps & ballasts, light remodeling, refrigeration systems, etc.).
  • Troubleshooting and repairing of AC & DC Motors and Control Circuits.
  • Reading/Interpreting Electrical, Electronic, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Instructional Drawings, Schematics, and Technical Manuals.
  • Installing, Troubleshooting, Maintaining and Repairing PLC and/or DCS Hardware, Software and Controls.
  • Maintaining 480/240 Volt 3 phase MCC and Power Distribution Systems.
  • Replacing Electrical Control Devices (Limit, Proximity and Photo Switches, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Valves, etc.)

  • Associates degree in industrial maintenance or related field preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision.
  • Effective communication with peers and managers.
  • Must have electrical skills.
  • Must be able to run complex computer software.
  • Must have plumbing skills.
  • Must be able to program machines.
  • Must be able to demonstrate prior maintenance experience.
  • Must be able to work on lift mechanisms, overhead lines, lights, and doors without fear of heights.
  • Hours for position: 2:30pm - 11:00pm and OT
