The School of Management at the New York Institute of Technology (New York Tech) invitesapplications for one or more full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Accounting to join our NYIT-SOM faculty team starting Fall 2025. The School of Management is AACSB accredited and offers several undergraduate and graduate business programs. Responsibilities include publishing in scholarly journals, teaching courses in accounting at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and service to the university and the academic and external community. All areas of research expertise in accounting will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates expressing interest and willingness to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in two or more areas of Professional Accounting, forensic accounting, Auditing, financial fraud detection and prevention, Accounting Information Systems, Accounting analytics, and Taxation. This position will require faculty to teach in-person at our New York City and Long Island campuses. Experience and/or willingness to teach in online platforms is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Teaching: Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in managerial accounting, forensic accounting, financial fraud investigation, auditing, accounting analytics, and/or AIS. Employ innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning and engagement. Research: Conduct impactful research in the field of accounting leading to publications in high quality scholarly peer-reviewed journals. Foster interdisciplinary research opportunities and collaborations within the university and with external partners. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum, incorporating emerging trends and technologies in various areas of accounting and tax domains. Service: Participate in departmental, college, and university committees. Engage in community outreach and professional development activities that promote the field of forensic accounting. Qualifications A Ph.D. in Accounting or related field with a focus on forensic accounting, financial fraud investigation, or auditing. Candidates who are ABD (All but Dissertation) will be considered if they can demonstrate progress towards completion. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFE, CIA) are preferred. Skills: Proficiency in data analytics tools and software relevant to forensic accounting (e.g., ACL, IDEA, Excel). Strong understanding of audit methodologies, fraud detection techniques, and financial regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
