As a Summer Intern at Ryerson, you will be responsible for you are responsible for learning, the way that Ryerson completes daily transactions in hopes you will want to come back as a full-time employee if afforded the opportunity.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Spend time with different departments to learn all important aspects of the business
  • Works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision
  • Tasked with projects on opportunities for process improvements in varying areas and works individually as well as with department leads to come up with solutions for improvement
  • Tasks must be completed with speed and accuracy
  • Learn quoting/order entry process and handle sales calls meeting customer's demands while providing satisfactory service
  • Other duties as assigned by management and supervisions
  • All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

  • Must be working towards Bachelor Degree
  • Prior sales or industry experience is preferred
  • Excellent professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Proficiency within Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) required
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
  • Positive attitude, competitive, goal-oriented, driven with a passion to excel
  • Flexible and solutions-oriented
