SUMMARY Under the direction of the Executive Director / Administrator, plans, organizes, develops and evaluates the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with current State and Federal regulations. Maintains current standards of nursing practices. Implements facility policies, procedures and management systems. Coordinates nursing services with community agencies, physicians, families, residents, consultants, ancillary service providers and other department personnel within the facility. Promotes quality care delivery by all providers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.

Recruits, hires, schedules, supervises, counsels, evaluates all nursing service employees according to established policies and procedures.

Ensures 24-hour provision of nursing services within Federal, State, and company requirements based on acuity of residents.

Supervises the health care services and programs to residents.

Coordinates resident admissions, transfers and discharges with other departments with community agencies.

Directs and supervises utilization of Medicare, Medi-Cal and Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) contracts.

Supervises and participates in resident interdisciplinary care plan conferences. Supervises documentation in resident health records and reviews scheduled audits.

Participates in budget planning and monitoring of fee scheduling and charging for services and cost effective utilization of resources.

Responsible for orientation and on-going in-service education of all nursing staff.

Provides professional management to State and Federal survey process following up with writing and implementing plan/s of correction.

Works closely with the Director of Quality Assurance and consultants to provide geriatric health programs and services.

Promotes stimulation, comfortable, uplifting environments for residents, families and staff.

Develops and revises Nursing Policy and Procedure Manuals as needed.

* Registered Nurse - California

* COMMUNICATION/INTERPERSONAL: Effective written communication skills as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations; live, via online or virtual mediums. Excellent collaboration and team-building skills. Effective conflict management skills. Ability to effectively build relationships with customers, executive management, and other stakeholders through positive interaction and problem identification and resolution.

* DECISION MAKING: Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to perform work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
* PRODUCTIVITY: Demonstrated time management and priority-setting skills. Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and organize workload to ensure that timeframes are met and the work is successfully completed within deadlines. Demonstrated ability to define, develop, and analyze performance measures and metrics; exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
* PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated planning and project oversight/management skills. Demonstrated skills in project plan design and implementation; directing projects, coordinating the work of operational teams, and managing project budgets. Effectively manages project deadlines and escalates issues as appropriate.

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* High School diploma or GED
Nonessential:
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or 4 Years job experience as long term care, geriatric and/or rehabilitative nurse with specialization in the field of work in a Skilled Nursing Facility

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* 3 Years supervisory experience
* 3 Years job experience as with knowledge of State and Federal regulations with specialization in the field of work in a Skilled Nursing Facility
Nonessential:
* 3 Years job experience as long term care, geriatric and/or rehabilitative nurse with specialization in the field of work in a Skilled Nursing Facility
