About North Park

Founded in 1891, North Park University is a Christian university affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church of over 3,200 students from around the country and the world.

North Park University is located in the Albany Park neighborhood of Chicago, one of the most ethnically diverse zip codes in the United States. It is nine miles from downtown Chicago. Responsibilities

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at North Park University invites applications for an open- rank tenure-track position in the area of Biochemistry to begin in August 2025. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field and a commitment to innovative, exemplary undergraduate teaching.

Responsibilities include teaching introductory and advanced biochemistry lecture and lab courses, as well as elective courses suited to the candidate’s expertise. Candidates will be expected to develop a program of research that incorporates undergraduate students.

The Chemistry Department at North Park features state-of-the-art teaching laboratories, dedicated research space, and a fully equipped instrument laboratory with an ATR-FTIR, GC-MS, HPCL TXRF, Raman spectrometer, and a 300 MHz NMR, among other instrumentation. We seek candidates excited to contribute to the continued growth and development of the department.

 

Requirements
