PurposeResponsible for unlocking and locking exterior door and classrooms, and custodial cleaning work in academic buildings. Usually works in a large assigned area with frequent group work and/or special assignments in addition to the assigned area. Responsibilities
Six month experience in any of the following fields: custodial, hospitality, environmental services, warehouse, production of facilities maintenance. Experience following basic work instructions. Ability to follow verbal instructions. Must be able to communicate via two-way radio. Basic reading skills in order to understand work orders, product labels, and other written job materials. Stable work history. Strong attendance record. Ability to walk 3 to 5 miles daily. Must have a reliable means of communicating with the department outside of work by phone. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred QualificationsHigh school, GED or higher. More than six months experience in any of the following fields: custodial, hospitality, environmental services, warehouse, production or facilities maintenance. Demonstrated ability to communicate with supervisors and peer group in a timely, respectful, and effective manner. Demonstrated ability and willingness to be an effective team member. Well developed interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Experience in a busy environment working around clients. Excellent initiative, attention to detail, and ability to change tasks quickly and willingly according to changing needs instructions. Experience using commercial custodial equipment. Driving RequiredThis job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Salary Range$18,720 annually + depending on qualifications (Annualized salary based upon 20 hours per week) Working Conditions Environment Demands:
