The Role in Brief:

Events Specialist

Working with teams and leaders across the firm, the Events Specialist will manage events with an innovative approach, high attention to detail, and unparalleled level of service.

The Events team is responsible annually for the management of 100+ in-house and off-site partner meetings, 600+ virtual events, firm hosted incentive trips, and firmwide internal events.

This position is located in our Washington, D.C. office.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for the planning of in-house and off-site events; including detailing event specifications with preferred caterer, audio visual, tracking guestroom pick-up, managing on-site event experience, and serving as an on-site manager
  • Source reception, dinner, and social venues for events; identifying locations that will attract attendees and further relationship opportunities
  • Collaborate with program teams in developing event strategy; serving as a consultant to the team by bringing forward innovative event ideas and ensuring objectives for each meeting are set and executed upon
  • Work closely with the partner experience and marketing teams to develop a strategic communication plan for each event
  • Monitor attendance reports to ensure capacity is maximized at each meeting
  • Assist in the collection, review and analysis of historical meeting data (scores, attendance, cost, etc.) in order to predict future trends
  • Track expenditures and ensure events are executed within projected dollar amounts, identifying opportunities for cost reductions while maintaining a superior event experience.
  • Manage meeting staff to ensure superior service is provided to both internal and external constituencies
  • Support other projects and support functions within the department


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree w/ strong academic record
  • 1 year of post-Bachelor's work experience
  • Working knowledge of common workplace tools such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated success delivering service both internally and externally
  • Proven experience managing multiple, competing priorities
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience working in a team environment, as well as autonomously
  • Ability to communicate by e-mail and phone with internal and external clients
  • Positive attitude, poise and judgment
  • Internal candidates must be able to demonstrate a record of achievement throughout EAB tenure
  • Willing to travel up to 40% (~1-2 times per month) domestically to conferences and EAB events
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or extended hours during event periods

  • Experience developing personal organization tactics to meet business goals

Compensation:

The anticipated starting salary this role is $52,000 per year.

This hire will additionally be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
